ATL Zoo

We hit the zoo a couple of Saturdays ago.  We were supposed to go to Zoo Atlanta before MK arrived, but that didn’t happen.  So with a forecast for some beautiful spring weather and a desire to do something fun as a family we were zoo-ward bound.

Our day included seeing the animals, riding the train and carousel, playing on the playground, jumping in an inflatable castle, and a quick visit to the gift shop.  Tip:  If you have children under 3 years old (age 2 and under are free) I would recommend purchasing a Premium Pass.  Here’s what it includes: “The Premium Pass includes one admission ticket; one unlimited rides wristband; one certificate for a lunch basket and fountain drink; and a $10 gift shop voucher.”  It costed $40, but it was well worth it to us.  Since a general admission ticket is $20, we needed to get some lunch, and each ride cost $2.50 (not to mention the incredibly long line to purchase tickets for the rides), having the gold zebra wristband (the premium pass) saved us money and time in the long run.

On our way home we asked EK what was her favorite part of the zoo.  Her response:  “The playground.”  We could have saved money, gas, and a whole lot of effort if we had just drove across town to the park.  But if we had done that we wouldn’t have had nearly as much fun.  What animal did she enjoy seeing the most?  “Panda bear!”  As for MK, I guess her favorite animals were the pigs.  For some reason she smiled when she saw them (see the above picture).  Maybe she could relate to them?! 😉
